Written by George Newman Updated over a week ago **Navigation:** Select **Quotes** from the sidebar. ### How do I create a quote? 1. Click **+ Add New Quote**. 2. Select the **Company**. This is required. 3. Optionally link a **Work Order**. Parts and billable time entries from the work order are added as line items. 4. A quote number is assigned automatically. A quote number is assigned automatically. ### How do I add line items? - Search for a part or type a custom item name. - Enter the **Quantity**, **Unit**, **Price**, **Markup %** and **Discount %**. - The line **Total** is calculated automatically. - Available units: Each, Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month, Year. When the Valid Until date is reached, the quote moves to **Expired** automatically. You cannot make changes to an expired quote until you move the Valid Until date forward. Quotes that are already **Approved** do not expire. ### Good to know - Billable time entries from a work order are added with a price of 0. Enter the rate manually. - New quotes do not include your default taxes. Add them using **Add Taxes**. - Editing line items or taxes on a sent quote moves it back to **Draft**. Send it again when you are ready. - Use **Duplicate** to create a new draft copy with a new quote number. - To see what your customer will see when they open the link in your email, click the **ellipsis (⋯)** in the top right and select **Preview**.
