A product is a predefined template that lets you create assets quickly and consistently. By setting up a product with standard fields, documentation, and parts, you can create multiple assets with the same configuration without entering the same information repeatedly. ### How do I access Products? **Navigation:** Open your Field Service workspace, then select **Products** from the sidebar. ### Why use products? Products help you: - **Save time:** Create assets quickly using predefined configurations - **Ensure consistency:** Maintain standardised information across similar assets - **Reduce errors:** Avoid manual data entry mistakes by reusing product configurations - **Manage documentation:** Attach standard documents that are inherited by all assets created from the product **Save time:** Create assets quickly using predefined configurations **Ensure consistency:** Maintain standardised information across similar assets **Reduce errors:** Avoid manual data entry mistakes by reusing product configurations **Manage documentation:** Attach standard documents that are inherited by all assets created from the product ### How are products linked to assets? When you create an asset from a product, the asset inherits the product's configuration including name, description, documentation, and parts. The asset displays the product model as a tag to indicate its origin. If you edit an asset's inherited fields (such as description or parts), the asset becomes independent from the product for those fields.
